This Is Why We Skipped Nap
It was almost 80 degrees in DC today. After picking up the boys from school, I decided to drive north to the Locust Grove Nature Center in Bethesda instead of taking them home for a nap. The Nature Center itself was closed but it didn't stop us from enjoying all Locust Grove has to offer. We followed the trail with BB leading the way.
In addition to trails and an open field, Locust Grove has a wonderful butterfly garden and a large play area set on a hill. There are birdfeeders, chimes hanging from the trees, large animals carved out of logs, a fire pit, a sand pit, and small bridges and platforms to climb and dance on. I sat under a sweeping pine tree watching the boys each do their own thing. A strong breeze blew by warming and cooling me at the same time. Spring is here. And it was definitely worth it to skip nap and greet her.
