Ducks + "Duck" + Duck

If you ever stop by our house and we're not home, come to the fountain at Dupont Circle.  Chances are, we'll be there.  In the summer, I resort to threats in order to stop them from diving into the fountain.  In the winter when it's drained, they still want to play in the large empty basin.  I met up with C and the boys at the fountain after work the other night.  A pair of ducks flew right by us to drink and bathe in the shallow pool of water that had accumulated from the rains.  The boys were thrilled and followed them around and around.

Before going home, we stopped at the bookstore to pick up a book for BB.  DD opted for a stuffed baby chick, which he named "Duck."  He has become DD's companion at bedtime although curiously Duck is not allowed to sleep in his bed.

Our preschool has a comparatively early Spring Break.  The plan was to give the nanny the week off and do local outings with the boys.  On the spur of the moment yesterday, we decided to go away instead and rented a house in Duck, NC.  We can't wait!
