Morning and Night

During the work week, this is what I see. Morning and then night, bookending the day which is largely unknown to me.  DD went to the school library and checked out a book which I find in his backpack.  He painted in class; the evidence is in his hair.  BB worked on Legos all afternoon which he displays for me on the table. These clues fill me in.  The rest is a mystery.
