Happy Chinese New Year!

We rang in the Year of the Rabbit with Chinese takeout (I know), new red pajamas, and hong bao (red envelopes stuffed with money) under our pillows.  On New Year's Day, C gave a presentation to BB's preschool class about Chinese new year traditions.  The kids seemed to really enjoy it.  Then we picked up DD early in his new class.  He was overjoyed to see us!

In the evening we went to my parents' house for a Chinese New Year feast.  It was a special treat for the boys to go out so late at night on a school night.  While they romped around like little emperors, C and I slinked out for a latte and a moment alone.  We drove by our old apartment and reminisced about old times.

By the way, isn't a Montessori classroom a thing of beauty?  All of the materials are so well-crafted, simple and organized.  It gives me tons of inspiration for setting things up at home.  It makes me feel so happy to know that BB and DD are in this environment everyday.

Here's to a healthy and happy Year of the Rabbit!
