Champagne + Cheeseballs

Sometimes you act in desperation.  Like when your child is obsessed with a certain character and wants to dress up like him.  The boys don't ask for much and it's rare that they insist on a toy, especially BB.  So when he does ask for something, C and I try to oblige.  He's currently interested in villains, not superheroes.  And one of his favorites?  Mr. Freeze.  In case you're not familiar, check out at what the comic book villain looks like - a black bodysuit with grey and blue accents, a glass helmet, and an ice blaster.  BB took care of the ice blaster himself using Legos.  But the rest was up to us.

A hermetically sealed glass helmet.  Where the heck do you buy that?  We brainstormed and visited craft stores, pet shops, party stores, everything you could think of on a Sunday afternoon.  Our first purchase was an acrylic champagne bucket.  He tried it and liked it but I worried it was too heavy.  So while he sported that for a few hours, we went shopping for something better.  Then we found it; he's wearing it in the photos.  Can you guess?  Did you say the largest plastic container of cheeseballs ever sold?  Winner, winner, chicken dinner!  Oh and yes, BB is allergic to cheese so encasing his head inside a container once packed with cheesy snacks is risky.  We cleaned out that sucker good.  Then C spent a long time cutting and trimming the opening so that it would fit over BB's head.  One more thing, we had to buy two super jumbo cheeseball containers in case DD wanted a glass helmet as well.

And who do you think had to eat all those cheeseballs?
