Squids Are Elusive

We bought a membership for the National Aquarium, a good deal if you plan to go several times a year.  BB's recent interest in squid led us to Baltimore early Saturday morning.  If you've never been, the National Aquarium is a must see, especially the large tank of mesmerizing stingrays and the special dolphin show.  But as far as BB is concerned, it fails as a world class marine facility.

They did not have any squid to speak of.  No glass squids, no giant squid, nothing.  We saw cousins of the squid - the octopus and a room full of jellyfish but BB was not impressed.  As a consolation prize, we did find a cute squid plush in the gift shop which came home with us.  The next closest thing to a real squid was the calamari at M&S Grill.  I guess what I'm saying is definitely go to the National Aquarium with the kids but if you are a fan of squid, you will be disappointed.

Weather wise, it was a perfect day - overcast and cool.  There were several downpours, rain that went sideways but we missed it all.  Once we were comfortably eating lunch indoors and watching it all through the glass atrium.  Then we were tucked away safely in our car exiting the garage.
