What We Did Before the Turkey



If it's due to global warming, I probably shouldn't be thankful, but I have really enjoyed the brilliant sunshine and balmy days the last few Thanksgivings have brought.  While the turkey was doing its thing, we visited Meadowside Nature Center in Rock Creek Park for the first time.  My boys can never go wrong when there are trees, dirt, and water around.  The combination of glorious weather, a creek, and steep terrain (we went off the trail) made for a perfect outing.  The nature center itself was closed for Thanksgiving but we never missed it.  I will bring them back on a cold day to enjoy it.

This year, my dad carved the turkey before any of us thought to take a picture.  It was beautiful and delicious, just like my boys!
