Teuthology And Other Things At The Museum

Another glorious Fall day here in D.C. called for a morning outing.  We headed to the National Mall for some museum action but half our time was spent outdoors in the Sculpture Garden and the large rocks right outside of the Natural History Museum.  When we finally made it indoors, BB spent his time looking at the ocean exhibits, focusing specifically on the Giant Squid (they have both a male and female).  He has been fascinated by squid (as distinct from octopus) for a long time.   We also spent time in the hands-on science room where DD took part in a graduate study program about cognitive recall.  We left him alone for the 20-minute session, just peaking in here and there.  He was having a great time, getting stickers, stamps and little containers of playdoh.

As we were leaving, BB remembered that this was the museum where he was left behind by his friend's parents.  He never talks about it but it's obviously all in there in his mind.
