Croup + Art
It's been a long time since BB and I have had some one-on-one time together. Over the weekend while DD went to a birthday party, BB and I went out together to hunt for art materials and buy pajamas. But I was still looking for some quiet time with BB. It presented itself Tuesday when the night before he had woken up with croup. We kept him home but sent DD off to school so he could enjoy the Thanksgiving festivities and partake in the stone soup his class had made.
That left me and BB at home to play quietly. In between work emails, we painted the sticks we had gathered a few weeks ago. I had originally wanted to use multiple color paints but BB had the idea to paint them all white. Bones he called them. But then we decided they also looked like snow-laden branches, which we both liked very much. We might sprinkle them with glitter for a little bling. Later, BB moved to drawing again. I opened a fresh box of colored pencils to replace the previous set. It's telling to look at the used set to see which colors he uses the most. Those were worn down to just a few inches, having been sharpened repeatedly. When DD came home from school, he jumped in on the art action too.
