Spring Break 2011 - Day 4

The light was incredible today.  It was all blue skies and warmer temperatures.  The boys started off the day with an early morning romp in the sand dunes behind our pool.  It's a huge tract of unused land with all kinds of (prickly) vegetation and animal tracks.  C spotted a field mouse and we definitely saw fox paw prints in the sand.

While C and I enjoyed coffee at a cafe/bookstore, BB and DD played a few games of "chessers" - checkers and chess mixed together.  The rest of the day was spent on the beach building sandcastles and dipping our toes in the water.

After dinner and bath, we all got in the car for a drive at twilight.  It seemed as though none of us could bear to say goodbye to the sun today.  We drove the winding road to the next village over until the last of the pink light went dark.
