{Friday} Indoors + The Weeks Ahead
Last Friday we attempted an outing in the morning to Mount Vernon but as we pulled in it started to rain, not to mention the crush of 7 tour buses full of students and tourists. Although there is much to tour indoors at Mount Vernon, my main purpose was to let the boys run the grounds, enjoy the views and visit the animals, all outdoors and all miserable in the cold rain. So we headed to the store instead to stock up on eggs for dyeing and other treats.
At home we dug into our stash of activities to wait out the rain. Just when the boys couldn't wait any longer, C came home and took them out in rainboots to splash in the puddles. Sometimes simple is best.
What a difference a week makes as today is gorgeous and sunny. I'm working from home, my last time for awhile. Certain (good) things have happened at work that will make the next few weeks busier than usual and will undoubtedly disrupt my schedule. I no longer have time for April and have already moved onto May, the busy season for our family. We'll be celebrating both boys' birthdays with parties at school, home and with friends. I'm savoring this final weekend to catch up on things and enjoy with DD while C and BB are away on a special trip. More on that next week. Enjoy your weekend everyone!
