More Havoc From The Storm
BB and I went for a walk to pick up a few things in the afternoon and was surprised by what we saw. The storm damage from the morning was just one little bit of it. Tree after tree had fallen over, breaking windows, bending iron fences, and destroying patio furniture. Because it was a holiday, the city was slow to clean up the damage but by the start of the work week, the sidewalks were cleared.
On certain holiday weekends, our neighborhood gets quiet, still; very different from the usual hustle and bustle. That quietness coupled with the sidewalks being littered with fallen branches, leaves and whole trees cast a post-apocolyptic calm over everything. Although I love the buzz of city life, these momentary pauses in between are nice too. Just me and BB exploring.
