The Calm After The Storm

The spate of delicious summer weather has ended.  DC saw major thunderstorms over the long weekend.  Lightening and thunder lasted all night and knocked out power for many outlying suburbs.  Besides the cracking sounds of the storm, we were untouched and remained oblivious to most of it until Monday morning.  We took a walk to get breakfast on this Fourth of July and saw huge branches lying everywhere.  Trees had been toppled.

I left my camera at home, not realizing that it would be an adventurous walk to the cafe.
