Meadowside Nature Center,The Sequel

Monday was a double holiday - the Presidential Inauguration and MLK Day.  More of my thoughts on that later this week.  In the meantime, our little family spent the morning playing in pajamas while watching the Inauguration ceremony on TV.  After the swearing in, we took off for the suburbs, away from the huge D.C. crowds.  We ended up at Meadowside Nature Center, our new go to place in Montgomery County.  We followed the boys' lead and set off on a different trail this time, which to the boys' delight, led to several bridges and walkways.  There were numerous opportunities to get to the water.  At one point, a large tree had fallen over the creek and each of the boys crossed over with C's help.  In the end, BB wanted to cross on his own and he did.

We are in a deep freeze now with some ice and snow on the ground.  It was really just an inch but it thrilled my boys who have been snow deprived the last two years.  I'm crossing my fingers for snow again because it just can't be this cold for nothing.
