Jones Point Park on the New Year

On the first day of 2013, we drove out to Jones Point Park in Alexandria.  Something new for the new year.  The boys enjoyed the waterfront, the large rocks, and the stony paths while I marveled at the engineering of the Woodrow Wilson Bridge.  We followed up with a cozy lunch in Old Town.

It's only been two days back at the office and school, but the holidays already feel like a distant memory.  (This despite the fact that there are toys and boxes all over the house.)  The house is feeling bulky, full, from the holidays.  Much of the purge happened before Santa's arrival but it's clear much more needs to happen in the new year.  Maybe that's something I'll focus on in 2013 - buying less but doing more.
