The Days Are Getting Longer

I'm not usually a fan of January.  It always seems so bleak and cold after the warmth of the holidays.  Our Christmas tree, as well as all of the others on our block, lays out front waiting for pick up.  But I have noticed that the days are getting longer now that the winter solstice has passed.  There is one long weekend later in the month plus the Presidential inauguration to look forward to.  I'm leaving out all of the fairy lights to  keep the house twinkling through the winter.  That, and candlelight, help make up for the early darkness.

I would be remiss not to mention that we're headed for a bit of a warming trend here with temperatures reaching the 60s toward the weekend.  If that's the case, you'll know to find us in the great outdoors.
