Rudolph + A Christmas Tree
At the beginning of the holiday season I figure out all the holiday--related shows that are playing and I buy tickets early so we can set our calendar for the month. Over the weekend we went to see Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. It's a remake of the classic Rudolph that we all watched as children on TV, the one where Burl Ives is the Snowman. It was really a fantastic production and DD's first real show. He enjoyed it very, very much!
It seems we're late getting our tree every year. I have it marked on our calendar but then we get invitations to parties and tickets to shows and the only day left to cut down your Christmas tree is the day that it's supposed to rain all day. So on our way home from the play, we stopped at our Whole Foods and bought a tree. Not the cutting of our own tree like I had planned but the boys had fun nonetheless. We looked at all the small Christmas trees while we waited for the tree guy to trim our tree. The boys got a kick out of the reciprocating saw he was using, both screaming "power tools!" When we got it home and set up in the stand, the boys got to work hanging candy canes (and then promptly ate 4 of them).
