Holiday Lights at the LDS Temple
Today is the first work day of the new year. I can't say any of us are too excited to get back into the routine of alarm clocks, packing lunches, homework. The holiday break went by so fast so I'm taking a look back to just a few short days ago. On one of the unseasonably warm nights we headed over to the beautiful LDS temple to view their holiday lights. It has been decades since I visited the temple and the kids have never been. Since it's mainly outdoors, the warm night was perfect viewing weather. You'll see the boys were wearing shorts! The grounds were crowded with tons of families all dressed up to take photos among the lit trees. I managed to snap this picture before my phone ran out of power.
Just when we started heading back to the car, it began to rain. Hard. We were lucky to be just a few yards from the car but there were still tons of visitors running and looking for shelter. It was a fun and low-key after dinner outing that I hope to do again next Christmas.
