The Lakehouse, Part 2
Believe it or not, our first day at Acadia National Park was without plan. We drove up to the visitor's center, got a map and paid our entry fee for the week and set off in search of adventure. Within moments we found the treasured gem Sand Beach. It was late morning and the longer we stayed, the more deserted it got so that by noon we almost had the place to ourselves. If it wasn't for hunger, we would have stayed the rest of the afternoon. The rocky granite cliffs, forest, sandy beach and sea together was too beautiful.
For a late lunch, we visited Bar Harbor. It's a great little town on the water that provided us with all our needs - food, great books, souvenirs, and ice cream.
P.S. It's not lost on me (to quote Coach Taylor) that I haven't quite finished posting our Taipei trip photos. Just two more days to get to there and I'm done.
