Taipei, Day 11 - Maokong Gondola
Back to our Taipei programming. On Day 11, we finally hit some cloudy weather. I had chosen this day to ride the Maokong Gondola and was hoping that the rain and wind would hold off. We were lucky - lines were short, even for the crystal gondolas (the ones with the glass floors).
The gondola ride up to Maokong is most likely the best gondola ride I've ever taken in my life. It is a steep and long ride up and the vistas are fabulous, giving us plenty of time to ooh and ahh and take photos and point out things to each other. When you finally arrive at the top of the mountain, there is a little snack shop where you can get some snacks (including cans of Pringles) as well as numerous teahouses spread all over. It was pretty windy when we got up there and making the boys sit around and watch us drink tea wasn't something I was willing to do so we took a few photos and enjoyed the luxurious ride back down.
At the bottom of the gondola entrance, PoPo and my aunt were waiting for us. They had cabbed over to meet the boys and take them for lunch and more adventures while C and I spent the afternoon shopping (more on that next time).
