Celebrating BB's Birthday

BB's birthday was this past Saturday.  C was busy with work, but the three of us had big plans.  The kid has been fascinated by carnivorous plants since checking out a book from his school library.  And because things sometimes just work out, the U.S. Botanical Garden put on an exhibit entitled Savage Gardens, showcasing carnivorous plants.  We spent a long time checking out all of the interactive exhibits (really fun for kids) and then had a chance to chat with an expert about and touch Venus fly traps and other plants.  Afterwards, we played in the Children's Garden until it we had to go home because DD was soaking wet.

In the afternoon Uncle JJ drove down to celebrate and C's mother flew in as well.  Having his entire family together is the best kind of celebration for BB.
