Trees in Training

The kick off to the boys' Spring Break was a wet one.  No thunderstorms as was forecast, but it was cloudy and drizzling on and off in the morning.  We persevered and went to the National Arboretum, specifically the National Bonsai and Penjing Museum.  We've been numerous times but not in a long while.  It's funny how the boys just know that there is something special about the Bonsai trees.  BB always wishes he could shrink down and climb one or twelve of them.

For those who've never been, it's definitely worth a trip.  Periodically, I crave a dose of beautiful Asian architecture and this Zen Bonsai collection definitely helps.  I worry that we're not doing enough to expose BB and DD to Asian, specifically Chinese, culture so I appreciate these opportunities.
