Love/Hate

Last year we started attending a variety of Summer camps. If you don't have kids, you might be insulated from the shockingly high cost of camps. Granted the offerings are varied and fantastic, but always at a price. Last year, one of the camps we started was an all day outdoor camp geared towards traditional camp activities.  Boys and girls are segregated and they swim, canoe, kayak, shoot air rifles, practice archery, gymnastics, mountain climb, and fish, among many other things, daily.

BB and DD always end up complaining and I understand - it's really hot, the pool is really cold, there are a ton of yellow jackets bothering you while you eat. At the same time, they have such fun with the counselors and other kids doing all kinds of silly things. So their second summer there is over now and to me it was a success. The boys would say otherwise. Every day they come home with great stories about what happened and what they did, but somehow they will still say they hated it. But of course we're going back next year!
