The Fourth of July

How was your Fourth?  Ours was dominated by swimming.  There was no camp on Friday so the boys went to morning practice, our first ever.  There were awards given for various things and BB won a big one.  Coach E awarded him with a big cigar box full of candy.  He was so proud, and so were we.  Saturday morning was a super early swim meet in the pouring rain, our second straight Saturday meet in the rain.  At some point, there was no sense in hiding.  One couldn't be more wet. On Sunday, BB participated in a relay swim meet.  Luckily, the weather was good and things went very smoothly.

On the Fourth, C and I made makeshift firefly traps and the boys ran around to catch them in our yard.  Then we headed off to watch the fireworks, a great show this year.  

In between all the swimming, we ran errands, relaxed at home, ate out a lot, and did nothing productive.  I'm ok with that though.  With all of the traveling and outings we've done in Spring and Summer, it was nice to have to stay close to home for the entire long weekend.
