Summer Heat

Our very first weekend without swim team.  We were looking forward to it so much, and we all seemed a little lost without the routine we'd grown accustom to over the last two months.  It was like we lost our rhythm without the metronome of the swim meet schedule.  Aimlessly, we pointed the car towards the city and ended up at the Sackler and then the Natural History museums.

What should have been an easy, even lazy August, has become completely different with both C and I beginning new positions.  My new job was unexpected.  An elevation, an honor even, but unplanned at this time.  But it came now and it is mine and I must do my best.

And for the third time this Summer, the boys will be starting yet another camp tomorrow, their last one for the season.  During the day, each of us goes our own way, doing different things with different people at different times.  But always at the end, we reunite, the four of us.
