One Kind of Summer Weekend
It was a fun, event filled weekend. We always seem to have one weekend like this now and again when everything converges despite your best efforts.
This weekend we had tickets to see Garfield the Musical at Adventure Theatre Friday night. That conflicted with a pep rally for swim team which we ended up skipping. Saturday morning was an early swim meet, and then afterwards we were meeting up with several friends for swimming and lunch (more pool time!) so we ended up skipping skating. Again. This left us with Sunday to run all our errands, see the new Minions movie (and decorate some Minion cookies), and spend time with out-of-town friends over dinner at our house.
All of this and I realized that Summer is dwindling. The boys are already at their new camp this morning. A few more weeks, one more vacation, and the start of school will be upon us. I saw the back to school displays at the stores this past weekend, a total buzz kill. There have been very few lazy weekends, something to work on after this Saturday. Even with the rainy, hot weather, the occasional mosquito bite, and the relentless swim practices, we are still loving Summer and wanting to squeeze every last golden drop out of it.
