The Hunt for Asian Art
On Saturday, we headed to our old stomping ground, the National Gallery of Art, for a nice lunch in the cafe. Our real mission that day was to find some interesting Asian art and artifacts. This was at the request of BB and DD. In D.C., there is no place better than the Freer and Sackler Galleries for this.
The boys both really seemed to like the ancient artifacts. They were trying to wrap their brains around bowls, hairpins, and swords that were 5,000 years old. DD wanted to know if dinosaurs roamed the earth then too.
I can't wait to take the boys to Taipei soon to check out all the great Chinese art at the National Palace Museum, one of my favorite places in Taipei.
