Rosh Hashanah and Our Days Off

Our school is closed for Rosh Hashanah (and a half day the day before).  Now that we are without a nanny, all of the school closings fall on us.  I took the day off - with lots of work sprinkled throughout the day - to take the boys out for some shopping with a mission.  Last month, we bought a LED reading lamp for BB (this one) because sometimes he likes to read after bedtime.  This would be fine but the boys share a room so a targeted but bright reading light is a necessity.  I should have known that DD would want one as well, so it was back to IKEA to hunt down another.  There were numerous other items we found - some interesting pillows, some toys, a paint set, some paper decorations, and cookware.  I've never left that store empty-handed.

We started things off with a look around the children's section and then breakfast (for me and DD) and lunch (for BB), before shopping the rest of the store.  These days, it's fun for me to take the boys shopping; they are even helpful in holding and finding things for me.

There are a slew of days that the boys don't have school in the next several weeks so we're working on ideas for our next "day off'" outing.
