C was away for a long weekend camping. The weather was so good Saturday that the three of us wanted to do a little nature hike of our own. Whenever it's nice like this, I like to take BB and DD out to play in nature. I've never liked going to the playground (although I do it) or other activities that are too structured, yet crowded (like elaborate fall festivals). I find that the boys, especially BB, really commune with nature. He quiets down, climbs and explores, really observes closely with eyes and ears. In fact, we found a tree frog no larger than his thumb. Can you see him one of the photos above?
To really make the day special, we hit the refreshment stand on the way to the car - lemon ices for the boys and lemonade for me. Delicious and mama was a hero.
