A Break in the Cold Weather
Not only were we pretty much unscathed here in DC by the big snowstorm that hit the East Coast, our temperatures have warmed by 10 degrees into the 40s. That meant that the afternoon could be spent outdoors. Nearly 2 hours later, we had shut the playground down and we dragged the boys away for dinner.
We made a last minute decision to eat at a favorite restaurant of C's in his old neighborhood. Our table was piled high with rotisserie chicken, red beans and rice, chicken etouffe, lentils and andouille sausage soup, and a crabcake sandwich. There was no room left for the beignets.
