A Rare Night Out for All of Us

Vacations and holidays aside, we are strict with bedtimes and the boys do not stay out late.  This poses a problem when there is something we want to do that is after hours  Fourth of July fireworks comes to mind, but our awesome roofdeck solves that problem.  I've been wanting to see Doug Aitken: Song 1 exhibit at the Hirshhorn.  It doesn't start until sun down which is pretty late these days.  I got brave Friday night and drove down to the Mall to see Song 1.  DD fell asleep in the car on the way there but quickly got his second wind when we arrived.  It was a beautiful night.  I don't remember the last time I was at the Mall at twilight.

If you haven't seen Song 1, I highly recommend it.  It's mesmerizing to see the Hirshhorn building transformed from architecture to art in downtown D.C.  Very Bladerunner-esque.
