Jurassic Park
It was downright balmy during our winter break. Instead of the indoor activities I thought we'd be doing, we spent most of the week outdoors. Thursday afternoon we took the long drive to visit our jurassic park in Shenandoah Valley, creatively named Dinosaur Land. I had heard about it years ago and had always wanted to visit with the boys.
To say we were lucky is an understatement. Unbeknownst to us, that Thursday was their last day of the season and we were the last guests they were admitting to the park before winterizing the exhibits until Spring. The boys were amazed by the sights. It's done quite well, even a little frightening despite the sunny weather. I felt like I was in an episode of Terra Nova.
On the way home, we stopped by Wegman's, a real treat given the distance. We picked up a couple of our favorite subs. After the boys went to bed, we cued up the DVR, ate our subs, and planned for 2012.
