Taipei, Day 7 cont'd - Shilin Night Market

With the time change, keeping the boys up long enough to go to a night market in Taipei was difficult, but I didn't want them to miss the sights, sounds, and energy that is unique to a good night market.  There is nothing like it here.  On Day 7, we dragged them back out to Shilin Night Market, one of the largest in Taipei and closest to our apartment, to show them what it was all about.

We didn't stay long but we did come upon a man searing steak with a propane torch.  Sold.  It was a big hit with BB and DD.  C and I found the famous guo bao food cart and after some shopping for trinkets, we stumbled upon Smoothie House - known for their delicious mango creations.  We ended spending more time at the hanging out at the Smoothie House outdoor cafe eating and talking than walking around.  Brief as it was, they have fond memories of the night market.  BB asked to return for more steak on our next trip to Taipei.
