Lazy Day on the River

Maybe I'm pushing my luck here but we had another great weekend that we left to the last minute to plan.  After getting our activities out of the way in the morning, we drove towards Georgetown thinking we'd walk along the River and do some shopping.  As drove along the River we could see all the various boats floating about.  C suggested going to the paddle boats at the Tidal Basin, an idea seconded strongly by BB.

My first thought was that it was going to be crowded on this lovely May weekend which also happened to be Mothers Day weekend.  But luck got us the first parking space in the small lot and a paddle for 4 without a wait.  We floated and paddled around towards the Jefferson, the Washington Monument, and the MLK memorial before finally heading back in.  Oh what a lovely way to see the city.

I must mention that before we even got to the boat rental, DD spotted the refreshment stand, which we had to visit both before and after.  When we were all "refreshed", we picked up Korean takeout from Mandu and checked out our old house.
We are headed in a birthday weekend - DD is turning 7!  His big party is this weekend so he is very excited about that.  Pictures to come.
