Christmas at the White House

When in D.C., it's easy to take for granted incredible opportunities like visiting the U.S. Capitol and watching Congress debate on the floor, watching a Supreme Court argument, or visiting the White House.  We had the opportunity to tour the White House holiday decorations this week.  Despite the wait and security procedures, the boys were very enthusiastic about the prospect of actually being inside the White House.  They oohhed and aahhed over the decorations, but to my delight, they were excited to read the placards about each of the rooms we visited.  Thomas Jefferson entertained here! BB and DD looked at me with disbelief; to them that might as well have been prehistoric times.

I wasn't allowed to be the big camera so my iphone had to do. Definitely a worthwhile experience we will do again if we have the opportunity.
