An American Weekend and Our Own Fireworks
The weekend was hot; typical July here in DC. After a week of afternoon thunderstorms stopped us from going to the pool, we finally made it there on Saturday. We spent the day doing typical summer things that you do as a suburban American family - ride bikes, go to the neighborhood pool, and get ice cream from the ice cream truck.
These are scenes from last weekend. We had lots of leftover sparklers from New Years in storage; perfect for celebrating the Fourth. Fireworks aren't allowed in Maryland but these super charged sparklers are as close as you can get to the real thing, legally! Next time I see these, I'm stocking up again.
