How the Weather Derailed Our Plans
This past weekend was chock full of plans. Between our regularly scheduled programming, we had made plans with friends for pool playdates both Saturday and Sunday. But the record-breaking heat moved us indoors on Saturday. Then a threatening storm shut the pool down on Sunday. All activities were moved indoors once again.
Luckily, Uncle JJ had made last minute plans to come for a visit. We all spent the night at my parents' house for maximum time together. C and I got a date night out of it as well.
In case you were wondering, on Saturday we ended up playing mini golf at the National Building Museum. It's a temporary summer installation. It was fun for the kids to run around the center hall, but the mini golf itself? I wouldn't recommend it. But if you're looking to duck any further heatwaves we might see in DC, you might give it a try.
