City Folk

Saturday morning was like waking up to a beautiful Spring day.  The entire neighborhood was outdoors walking dogs, running errands, eating brunch.  I had wanted to take the boys on a nature outing but we opted for time at two playgrounds with a trip to Whole Foods for supplies.

DD saw something involving strawberry ice cream on top of sugar cones so off to the store we went.  We bought good vanilla ice cream (from coconut milk) and some sugar cones.  At home I diced up strawberries with a bit of sugar and mixed it with the ice cream.  Oh, the boys were in heaven. 

In the afternoon, we stayed home(!)  I cooked dinner while keeping an eye on the boys.  BB wanted to draw on the stoop with chalk and DD soon followed.  They were outside drawing and fooling around for close to 3 hours.  Then upstairs jumping in the moon bounce for 1/2 an hour before coming down for dinner.

My preference always is to take the boys for an outing but I have to admit it was a nearly perfect way to spend a balmy Saturday at home in the city.
