The Week Before Christmas
Editor's Note: Too busy to upload the photos I took until now

So what have you all been doing lately to get ready for Christmas?  We kicked off this long weekend with a beautiful holiday sing-a-long in BB's class.  It was so adorable to see him singing with his classmates.  He even had a little dance they had been practicing.  DD had a good time romping around in the Montessori classroom and touching the materials.
We planned a party for this past Sunday.  A small gathering of about 30 friends to get together for some food + wine and a gift exchange for the little ones.  Unfortunately, a big storm in DC blanketed our area with about 20 inches of snow on Saturday.  Because we live in the city, there was no street parking to speak of.  Everyone was snowed in so we had to cancel.  C and I were working to get the house ready and planning the menu so it was a bit of a letdown for everyone.  But we did take the Boys out to enjoy the snow and they enjoyed the snow indeed!  They rolled in it, threw it, tasted it, built a snowman and saved some in a bucket.  I made a delicious roast chicken and homemade chicken soup for dinner. We even made it to grandma and grandpa's house the next day and did a little Christmas shopping while the Boys were napping.  Monday was another snow day as the nanny wasn't able to make it so we spent it making gingerbread houses, wrapping gifts, reading holiday cards and answering the door for the UPS man, and doing a little shopping.  The stores were crowded with people doing their last minute shopping.  All in all a terrific long weekend.
