Island Time

The kickoff to our 4-day weekend was without the boys.  They were at a double playdate, just enough time for C and I to run an errand, get coffee, and buy some books before heading back to pick them up.  It reached 60 in the afternoon sun so we went for a nature walk at Roosevelt Island, apropos for the Presidents' Day holiday.  These days we hike the long trail (about a mile and a half) all around the perimeter of the island.  Along the way we meander to the little beaches.  The boys throw rocks, draw with sticks, and edge towards the river, while I take in views of Georgetown University, Whitehurst Freeway, and the Kennedy Center.

Photos from our previous trips to Roosevelt Island can be found here.
