Medal Ceremony

This post is about BB and his medal ceremony at the end of his first gymnastics session.  He's been taking gymnastics for a few months now - nothing serious.  It's just a class that requires a lot of jumping and swinging on things.  Perfect for a 3 year old to get out some energy during the dreary winter.  The medal ceremony is momentous for all the parents of the students, but it's especially special to me because my dear BB who is truly an outgoing and friendly boy disliked his gymnastics class a great deal.  More than anything he's every experienced before.  He bawled about it in fact until class 4.  Now if you know BB you would be utterly surprised to read those words but it's true.  He now, of course, loves it and even though he didn't truly understand the significance of the ceremony, I was the proudest mama bear sitting in the front row taking pictures.

Now why you ask is DD wearing the medal in the first pic?  This photo is a testament to DD and his role as the younger one.  This was around 3:00 PM when DD had waken from his nap but when BB was still sleeping.  He saw the medal and knowing full well that his big brother was upstairs napping, picked up the medal and put it on.  Yes, he does this type of thing.  He knows that the medal belongs to his brother so he waits.  He waits for the opportunity when BB is not around and then casually tries it or plays with it himself.  He did this with BB's Spiderman costume.  Stealthy, don't you think?
