My Latest IKEA Buys

There's nothing like a great trip to IKEA to kickstart my creativity.  On our last visit over the weekend, we found a whole of items, big and small, that were worthy of bringing home.  I often have friends ask me where we got certain things for the boys.  So here's the answer:

Top row:
  • MALA fluorescent/glitter paint - this is not our first experience with IKEA's MALA line of art supplies, but it is our first with glitter paints.  These little squeezable tubes are really easy to use.  The paints are densely pigmented.  Now I wish they would come out with more colors.
  • PLUFSIG gym mat - love the green colors of these mats.  These are great for our two little wrestlers.
  • FUNDERA building blocks - I don't remember seeing these before, but they had to come home with us. They are like KAPLA blocks but less expensive.  I have some ideas of how to customize these.
Second row:
  • MALA water color pencils - IKEA calls them colored pencils, but if you read the label these are actualy water color pencils.  Unlike the set we have, they are chubby and shorter. We look forward to trying these out.
  • VISIONAR paper decorations - Have you visited IKEA's new paper shop? It's really fun.  I picked up an assortment of these hanging paper decorations.
  • STUVA cabinet - to better outfit the boys' closet, we bought two of these tall STUVA storage cabinets for hanging clothes and folded clothes. Love the clean lines and cutout handles.
Third row:
  • MALA Watercolor box - again as with the other art supplies, I find IKEA's quality to be pretty good.  This watercolor set is great for portability.  It comes with little water cups for brush washing so you can easily take it with you on a trip.
  • PS balance bench - so good looking as a narrow bench and fun as a balance beam.
  • MALA Paintbrush set - this is a stock up item.  You aren't going to find better quality, better looking painbrushes for the price.  I always buy a few packs to keep on hand.
