C+O Canal

We feel so lucky to have moved to where we are now.  Certainly, I miss the sights of the city, but being 2 minutes away from the C+O Canal towpath and the Potomac River has its advantages.  With no school on Halloween and DD still a little too sick to attend his friend's party, the three of us headed to Lock 10 to take a walk and see what we could see.  In our house, we call it an adventure.

There was no shortage of things to see and do - we collected leaves bigger than our heads, marveled at a great blue heron, got up close to a very large buck, spotted up some cool modern houses, and found a path down to the Potomac.  This has become our home away from home.
