Two Chipmunks
How was your weekend? The meteorologists said it would be unseasonably warm, maybe reaching 70. They were wrong. Actually, Saturday was a gorgeous day that felt like early Spring. Sunday wasn't as nice. We did find time for a good, old-fashioned nature outing on Saturday. More on that later.
I returned home early Friday afternoon to two packages. One a vintage book I had ordered for the boys, the other some of their clothes I had purchased. After reading the entire book, the boys tossed aside their new clothes in favor of using the empty boxes as a chipmunk house. They dragged out all of their art supplies and called us over only when help was needed to cut some holes in the cardboard. The house had a tray filled with acorns and a little glass jar with miniature candy canes (the treat jar). There were also lots of holes cut into the box for ingress and egress. Eventually, they connected other smaller cardboard boxes to the main house. And they did the whole thing together.
