Skipping the Fall Festivals This Weekend
We are really enjoying the crisp Fall weather here in D.C. Unlike the steamy days of Summer that saps us of our energy, Fall is rejuvenating. The boys can go all day long without taking a break. Saturday afternoon we drove out to Great Falls, the Virginia side, for more fresh air and exercise. The leaves are still very green and lush but you can easily see how the trees will be ablaze in color in a few short weeks.
Right now there are a ton of Fall festivals in the area. All of them are chock full of activities like moonbounces, facepainting, hayrides, and petting zoos, in addition to the pumpkin patch. We've been to several over the years, but I really don't enjoy them. We much prefer open space and nature to play with. If you want to take a look back at some our previous visits to Great Falls, Virginia, go here and here.
