The View from Up Top + The Sound

No, I'm not yet done with the vacation photos.  This is an indication of where my mind is still.  The day these photos were taken, we reversed our normal routine of beach first and then outing.  We showed up to the Currituck Beach Lighthouse shortly after they opened.  The boys were excited to climb the lighthouse, and they did.  All 214 steps up and then down again, on their own.  Afterwards, we made our way to the sound side - calm and cool to the ocean's drama and strength.

The day unfolded just like all the other vacation days - a leisurely breakfast, a trip to get iced coffee and bagels, then the adventures of the day.  The way life should be.  Our trip has given me an appetite for more fun trips and I can't wait for summer.
