Birthday Weekend in NYC

I told you that we are still suffering from our Taiwan hangover.  We just couldn't have a long weekend go by without taking another trip so off to NYC we went.  Memorial Day weekend falls exactly between DD's and BB's birthdays so it's a great time to celebrate.  We arrived and immediately headed to The Cloisters, our first time.  The museum itself and the grounds of Fort Tryon Park are really beautiful and worth the trek.  The boys were getting hungry though and the only restaurant near The Cloisters was closed for a private event so we headed towards our hotel in search of NY pizza.

As is the case during all of summer, there was a huge street festival near our hotel so we shopped and snacked our way through after grabbing pizza (so, so good).  Afterwards, we strolled slowly to the Highline to walk arounde, shop Chelsea Market, and then head to our special birthday dinner at The Ninja Restaurant.  If you've never been, it's a must.  The boys had so much fun throughout the meal and the food was pretty good.  Just to give you a preview of what it's like, be prepared for smoke, swords, fire, and of course, ninjas!  We even saw couples there (sans kids) having a fun dinner.

A quick cab ride back to our hotel and we let the boys stay up late - we were on a mini vacation after all!
