Books, Library

During the snow break, C took down a wall-mounted shelf against this wall and patched the holes. We then tackled the dozen or so boxes of books still packed in boxes from the move.  We decided to keep only the books that could fit on our two Sapien bookshelves (which is a lot).  This doesn't include books for reference, travel, coffee table books, and special collections.  We managed to cull through and donate 4 full boxes of books.  I thought we had done a big purge in the move to the new house, but it goes to show that there is always more that you can do without.

So just like that, this little area next to the living room has become a mini library for the grown-ups.  I love the color the books add to the space.

Going through our book collection, it became clear that neither C nor I have purchased many books since 2010.  That was about the time that we, and everyone, switched over to e-books.  First the Barnes & Noble nook for us, then our phones and iPads.  As I wrote about here, we still purchase actual books for the boys, and will continue to do so.
