Post-Thanksgiving Art

We usually have time on Thanksgiving Day to take a hike or visit a museum, but since I was hosting, my oven and stove never turned off starting at 10:00AM making it too hard to leave the house for long.

Friday, however, presented the perfect opportunity to make the trip to the museum.  There are two exhibitions at the Hirschhorn right now that are worth taking the kids to: At the Hub of Things: New Views of the Collection, and Days of Endless Time.  Photography wasn't allowed inside the Days of Endless Time exhibit (which was a shame) so you'll have to go see it for yourself. Both BB and DD really responded to the installations and it was a great way to walk around out of the cold and spend time together.  Afterwards, we headed back to our old neighborhood for some Shake Shack.

Later in the evening, we kicked off the holiday season with a drive to our favorite winter lights (Seneca Creek Winter Lights Festival).  The boys jumped in the back of the car, snuggled in blankets and ate popcorn while we drove through all the beautiful lights.  This really is our favorite time of year.
