The First Night in Nova Scotia

We made it to our rental house in Nova Scotia in the evening.  After our flight, we shopped Halifax for some necessities before making the almost two hour drive to the house.  We left in sunshine and arrived in cool air and misty fog.  The house and its environs were beautiful (more on that later this week).  I got busy making the boys a proper dinner of Nova Scotia salmon since they'd been eating on the fly the whole day.  After dinner we took a look around the property and the stunning views.  Just to give you a sense of things, these outdoor photos were taken around 8:30 PM, in overcast, foggy skies.  The sun doesn't go down fully until almost 10.

I love the first day of vacation when you have all of the days stretched out ahead of you.  Oh, and you haven't lived until you've seen your kids frolic through a field of tickly wildflowers.
